Gridsend is an offline AI assistant. The whole product runs on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell your data, because no data ever leaves your phone in the first place.
This document explains what that means in plain terms.
Everything you do in Gridsend lives on the device you do it on. Your chat history, attached photos, voice recordings, and personal profile (if you choose to set one up) are stored in the app's local storage. Apple's iOS sandbox isolates this data from other apps. If you delete the Gridsend app, all of it goes with it.
You can clear your chat history at any time from the Settings panel inside the app.
The app asks for camera, microphone, and photo library access only when you choose to use a feature that needs them.
If you deny any of these permissions, the corresponding feature is hidden or disabled. The rest of the app keeps working.
Gridsend includes a bundled open‑weights language model (Gemma 4) and a curated reference library of preparedness content. Both are baked into the app at build time and shipped to your device with the install. We do not check in, phone home, or report on what you ask the model. The model has no internet access from inside Gridsend.
Gridsend is rated 12+ on the App Store. It is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no information, no special children's data handling is required.
If we change anything about how Gridsend handles data, we will update this page and bump the effective date at the top. If a future change introduces any data collection, transmission, or sharing, we will be explicit about it before it ships, and you will be able to opt out or delete the app.
